About KONTRÄR
KONTRÄR is an independent venue for contemporary theatre, based in Stockholm. Since November 2022 we’ve been presenting bold, curated performances from Sweden and abroad – and since March 2025, we’re powered by people.

Hundreds of subscribers around the world now support KONTRÄR – not because they have to, but because they want a space for theatre free from commercial pressure.

Every Thursday at 6 pm, we send out a newsletter with updates, reflections, and our programme. That newsletter is also the only way to book tickets.
Paying members book them for free.
